Getting Rid Of Fat Foods Is A Simple Matter Of Choice
When getting rid of fat food in my life, I first had to find a foods that I could eat, that were good for me, but not so bland and tasteless that I would not be able to maintain my diet plan.
Fast food had to go, but what was going to take it’s place? That is what this post is all about. What to eat when your getting rid of the fat in your life.
What I used to eat
Like most people, I love to eat. Unfortunately I began eating too Much. As time went on, I seemed to just settle for whatever was easiest. Fast food, which to me means not only McDonald’s and Burger King, but any food that is high in fat, and quick to make. That includes frozen foods, steak and potatoes, pot roast, and pizza. Just about anything that I am qualified to cook on my own had to go. You see I am not gifted in the culinary area. Is it any wonder I gained weight? I ate too much of the wrong things, all the time. It was time to retrain my palate and my mind. If I was serious about getting rid fat foods this simply had to happen.
Some foods that you need
I had no idea where to start, so on the advice of a friend I went to the Good Housekeeping website. I had no idea they had a website. They give you some interesting and tasty alternatives to help make those healthy dishes go down a little easier.
First of all, chicken became one of my staple meals. You have to be creative to make it appetizing over and over again. I slowly became a master at cooking chicken in different and delightful ways. I only eat chicken with no skin, usually boneless. With chicken it doesn’t really matter how you cook it, bake, fry, grill, or broil, it matters how you marinate it and what you cook it with. My favorites are Cajun, lemon, teriyaki and even shake and bake if I am pressed for time. As long as the marinade is not high in fat, you are good to go with this tasty chicken dinner.
I have never been a very good vegetable eater. When I was growing up I had to be threatened and forced to eat vegetables. Now I had to overcome that and found some that I actually like a lot. You can’t really go wrong with veggies, you have to avoid the fatal mistake of using too much butter. The fat content of butter can counter balance all of the benefits of eating the vegetables in the first place.
I was able to find low to no fat flavors to replace the butter. One suggestion for getting rid of fat is to use low or no fat dressings to make the veggies go down. Don’t get carried away here or the calories of these substitutes may damage your diet, but I have found a little is enough to make almost any vegetable or salad go down without too much trouble. If a diet
Focusing on Fiber
There are many different types of diets out there, hundreds that each have their own benefits. For the average person who is struggling to lose weight a diet high in fiber is important. I read this very line and started to investigate exactly what that means.
Fiber is a complex carbohydrate and is the part of the plant material that cannot be digested and absorbed in the bloodstream. There are two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble.
Soluble fiber may help with weight loss as it makes you feel full longer, and research has shown it also may help lower blood cholesterol. Good sources of soluble fiber include oatmeal, oat bran, barley, dried beans and legumes, and citrus fruits.
Insoluble fiber tends to speed up the passage of material through the digestive tract and reduce the risk of colon cancer and diverticular disease. Good sources of insoluble fiber include wheat bran, whole grain cereals, and fruit and vegetable skins.
Fibrous foods can be consumed everyday and won’t cause weight gain because they are low in calories and will sweep away the unwanted calories, fats and carbohydrates in your system. Fiber is an ideal food choice for those who are getting rid of fat foods in their lives.
So if you are one of the thousands of Americans who are getting rid of fat foods in your diet, cut out the poor choices of fatty comfort foods, eat healthier low fat meats and vegetables, and introduce a diet high in fiber to your life. Soon you’ll be getting rid of the fat forever!
